Where are they now?

How much does travel impact your students? It broadens their perspectives, increases their self confidence, and initiates personal growth. What’s more, traveling ignites students’ education and impacts them for a lifetime – influencing their future decisions and individual paths.

Here’s a firsthand story about one of our traveling students, Madison “Madi” Epping, who traveled with WorldStrides as a student and enrolled in our Discovery For Credit program. Today, she is living and studying in London and we recently reached out to her to share her thoughts about traveling.

Read this quote from her below, and after, watch her Discovery for Credit submission from 2014 to see how much she’s grown.

“Growing up I didn’t take many family vacations, nor did I ever think traveling would become so important to me. I never thought about how my hometown would always be right where I left it and that I shouldn’t let the fear of change keep me from seeing the rest of the world. Travel didn’t become something I was really interested in until after my WorldStrides experience in Washington DC, which ultimately led to my WorldStrides England/France Adventure. I’ve now been living and studying in London at an international school for the past two years. I will be forever grateful for the role traveling has played in my current life, the friends I’ve made, and the experiences I’ve been fortunate enough to have.”

Wow! It’s so impressive to know how much travel has affected one of our students.

Back in 2014, when Madi returned from her WorldStrides England/France Adventure, she enrolled in our Discovery for Credit program and completed the online assignments that paired with her travel program.

To see how much Madi has grown, let’s jump back in time and see what was on her mind in 2014!

Madi’s assignments encouraged her to build on her travel knowledge, to understand her experiences in meaningful ways, and to recognize the growth and maturity she gained from her WorldStrides program. For Madi, the lifetime impact is staggering!

Discovery for credit can be a great way for you to deepen the significance of your travel experience, too!  Learn more about it here.
