Thanks to your hard working in making educational travel possible for your students, you have qualified for a free trip to Washington D.C. during WorldStrides’ Teacher Orientation Trip. You’ll join other educators from all across the country for three days and two nights in our nation’s capital. You’ll have the opportunity to network with other educators, learn more about WorldStrides, see how a WorldStrides travel program works (before you have your students with you), all while having an amazing time touring the many iconic memorials and monuments our country’s most iconic destination. Best of all, this trip is completely free to you!

To secure your spot, simply complete this form and WorldStrides will take care of the rest. You must complete your registration by June 15, 2022 in order to secure your spot on the trip.

Schedule of Events

The event takes place July 31 – August 2, 2022 and will include all the following amazing activities.

Sunday, July 31

  • Arrivals throughout the day
  • 5pm: Teacher Orientation Info Session & Happy Hour
  • 6pm: Taste of D.C. Dinner
  • 8pm: Night Tour of Washington D.C.: Jefferson Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and World War II Memorial

Monday, August 1

  • 7am: Breakfast and Professional Development Session
  • 9:30am: Arlington National Cemetery with Wreath Laying Ceremony
  • 12pm: Lunch
  • 1pm: National 9/11 Memorial
  • 2pm: Smithsonian Museums
  • 3:45pm: Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, and Korean Memorial
  • 5pm: Happy Hour and Round Table Discussions
  • 6pm: Dinner

Tuesday, August 2

  • 7am: Breakfast
  • 8:45am: FDR Memorial
  • 9:30am: White House and Black Lives Matter Plaza
  • 11am: Capitol Hill Grounds Tour
  • 12pm: Lunch on National Mall
  • Buses drop at airport

Commonly Asked Questions

What is covered with this trip and do I have to pay anything? WorldStrides will cover the cost of your flight to and from Washington D.C., your hotel accommodations, and the meals and activities stated in the above schedule. Any costs associated with baggage fees or additional meals or souvenir shopping are not covered by WorldStrides.
Can I arrive early or extend my stay? Yes, WorldStrides will work with you on your flights to arrive early or to extend your stay. We’ll also work with you to arrange additional nights at the hotel but those costs will be your responsibility. Any other costs incurred for additional days/nights of the trip will also be your responsibility.
Am I allowed to bring a guest? This trip is for educators only and due to space limitations, only those teachers qualifying may attend the events and activities listed above. However, if you do decide to bring a guest, that guest is free to stay in your hotel room but they will not be able to accompany you at any of the meals or on any of the tours.
