And, it’s super easy to get started!

When you agree to lead a trip with WorldStrides, we encourage you to help your students take advantage of this fantastic opportunity. Your students just sign up for one of our courses and work at their own pace within a six-month window to complete their online coursework.

They’ll work with our instructors who will provide feedback as they go, using video responses, photos of their experience, and chances to engage in discussions with their peers. Once completed and evaluated by our Curriculum and Academics Department, students will be issued a transcript through our university partner, University of California – San Diego Extension. Acceptance of the credit is at the discretion of the receiving institution. We have been accredited by these national accreditation agencies:

  • AdvancED (parent organization to NCA-CASI, SACS-CASI, and NWAC) view certificate
  • Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) view certificate
  • Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS) view certificate

About our courses

Our courses focus on global perspectives and issues, and are designed to move students through awareness, understanding, appreciation, interaction, and experience in a foreign country. Forces behind global thinking – like technology, social-mindedness, politics, environment, ecology, economy, and culture – will all feature prominently in the courses. We believe that strong global thinking leads to success in citizenship, stewardship, and leadership. Check out our academic credit page for more information about course options and eligibility, course options, and registration informatoin.

Our on-tour approach

Our Tour Directors are trained in our trademarked approach to learning called LEAP – Learning through Exploration and Active Participation. Tour Directors use hands-on, interactive lessons to bring curriculum to life and engage students in the world around them. By challenging students to actively explore, ask questions, and develop a point of view about what they’re seeing and doing, our LEAP methodology creates a richer experience that delivers a lasting learning impact. Check out our infographic about travel’s impact on students!

Each day, your Tour Director will facilitate activities designed to ignite a desire for change and to cultivate a hope for the future. The lessons provide students with the ability to understand other traditions, cultures, viewpoints, and global issues; they position students to take an active role in society.

Plus, you can take advantage of our free professional development!

Did you know you can receive professional development points simply by leading your students on a program? Our accreditation enables us to issue professional development to our teachers for their work on the travel program. This opportunity is available on all WorldStrides programs, no matter the destination, with amazing benefits. Learn more!
