White House Picture Stop

Gather in front of one of the most famous houses in the world and have your picture taken. Look closely to see if you can spot the President and the First Lady.

Smithsonian Institution

The world's largest museum complex: you'll have time to explore the National Portrait Gallery and see all the past president's portraits.

Pentagon Memorial

Walk through this memorial that honors the 184 victims of the September 11th attacks at the Pentagon.

U.S. Air Force Memorial

Day 2 : Saturday, January 18

Capitol Hill Grounds Tour

Take a walk around one of the most famous hills in the land. You'll see an up-close-and-personal view of the U.S. Capitol, the Supreme Court, and the Library of Congress.

Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial

World War II Memorial

Honors the 16 million who served and the 400,000 who died in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II, and all who supported the war effort from home.

Washington Monument

Enjoy a picture stop as you see the world's tallest stone monument honoring our nation's first president.

Inauguration Celebration

Enjoy dinner and an evening at Pinstripes in Georgetown with other students from across the country. Enjoy a great night of dinning, bowling, and bocce.

Day 3 : Sunday, January 19

Ford's Theatre and Peterson House

See where President Lincoln was shot and later died on that fateful day. (by appointment)

National Archives

Home of the original Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence.

U.S. Holocaust Museum Memorial

The museum provides the documentation, study, and interpretation of Holocaust history. (by appointment)

Lincoln Memorial

In remembrance of former President Abraham Lincoln and the great nation he fought to preserve during the Civil War.

Korean War Veterans Memorial

Tribute to the men and women who defended South Korea in the Korean War.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial

Dedicated to the more than 58,000 men and women killed or missing in Vietnam.

In remembrance of former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his three terms in office.

Honors the famous civil rights activist, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Day 5 : Tuesday, January 21

Arlington National Cemetery

America's most famous military cemetery. See the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Kennedy gravesites, and more.

U.S. Marine Memorial

See the Iwo Jima Memorial, a tribute to all U.S. Marines and based on the famous WWII photo by Joe Rosenthal.

Smithsonian Institution

You'll have time to explore either the Natural History Museum or the National Museum of American History.

Dinner and depart Washington D.C. for home

Specific sites may be added, removed, or substituted as needed. Itinerary subject to change based on unexpected security closures for Inauguration. Your WorldStrides Representative will work with you to select activities to fill available time.

    How do I register for my program/trip?

    For most programs, there are a few easy ways to register:

    • Online: Visit our online portal
    • By Phone: Some programs may be eligible for phone registration. Visit our Contact Us page to find the phone number!
    • By Mail: If you received a trip letter distributed by your program leader, complete the registration form and fax the front and back with your credit card information to the number or address provided in your letter.
    Some WorldStrides programs offer incentives for early registration, so please refer to the information provided to you by your program leader for complete details. When registering, you'll need to use the Trip ID assigned to your program.  Each ID is unique and can also be found on the registration information provided to you by the educator leading this program. *Note: Some groups may have special registration procedures. Please check with your program leader if you cannot find a Trip ID associated with your trip.

    Can students earn academic credit from their travel programs?

    Yes! We love when students get credit for learning. This helps them get a step ahead, whether its for a college application or for a future career. All middle programs include the opportunity to earn free high school credit. Our Perspectives programs offer high school students the opportunity to earn three free college preparatory credits. Most of our higher education programs include credit from the academic institution of record. Our online courses make it easy to earn credit at a student's own pace. WorldStrides offers coursework that has been carefully designed to combine the field experience with online assignments that demonstrate achievement of learning objectives.     What's included in the cost of a domestic or high school international program?

    Every program is customized and what's included may vary from trip to trip. A typical program includes transportation (air or motor coach), hotel accommodations, meals, a daily guide (Course Leader or Tour Director), sightseeing activities, and immersive educational content. All programs also include all of our safety provisions and support. The registration letter provided by the teacher leading your program has all the inclusion details for your specific program.
