Designing Your Custom Program

Our approach to faculty-led programs and short-term study abroad is in our name: custom. Like a fingerprint, each faculty-led custom program is unique, and our capabilities across 110+ countries are unmatched. By incorporating your curriculum goals, we source one-of-a-kind experiences that better prepare your students for future careers by exposing them to international culture, businesses, and academic engagements. From selecting your destination to identifying interactive engagements that bring your curriculum to life, our thematic approach ensures that your program is finetuned to the learning outcomes and unique needs of you and your students.

A Personal Partner

Once your program is developed, you’ll work directly with an account manager who will be your champion, working directly with our large team of logistical experts, curriculum specialists, and on-the-ground partners. Our long-time university partners see their account managers as an integral part of their own university teams, ensuring that your program is uniquely yours each and every year.

Ways to Explore

Groups commonly explore the vastness of the United States in a variety of ways:

Multi-City/Multi-Focus—Compare the spirit of San Francisco with the Hollywood style of business in California, or walk down the corridors of power in both New York and Washington, D.C. Our longer, multi-destination programs offer a fuller look at the American economy through visits to two or more cities of your choosing. Compare and contrast or simply soak in the many sites and meetings available in each destination. These programs are typical for universities based outside the United States.

Single Location Focus—Explore a single topic such as government policy in Washington, D.C., finance in New York City, entertainment in Los Angeles, or oil production in Houston. These single-destination focused programs are most common for U.S.-based universities and often include a mix of American and international students.

Adventure – Explore the Rocky Mountains or enjoy a long weekend in Florida on a trip especially designed for cohort bonding, either before your academic year begins or during a holiday break. This type of trip can also be a popular option for international students who might not be able to travel home during short breaks.

Destination Overview

United States Now

For international visitors, the United States’ vastness—speaking both geographically and economically—means a single trip can offer a wide variety of views on its resources and unique spirit. For students educated outside the U.S. especially, exploring just some of its most important cities—New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco (to name just a few)—can reveal distinct cultural contributions and individually significant business communities. Texas with its vast oil industry, for example, offers a look at an important American export. A trip to New York’s Wall Street is a distinctly American way to explore the world of finance. Or consider Silicon Valley, the undisputed epicenter of the world’s dynamic tech culture. The United States offers up the incredible diversity of its cultures, geographic regions, resources, and industries for study—a melting pot always simmering with something new.
