We can’t wait to host you at our Spring 2024 Warm-Up Weekend in New York City! You’ll meet our team, see our events in action, and network with like-minded Directors from across the country.
Below you’ll find the weekend’s itinerary. You attendance is expected at all activities. All activities are subject to change. If you have any questions, please call Stephanie Harrington at 770-262-8081.
Our host hotel for the weekend is: Hilton Midtown, 1335 6th Avenue, New York, NY, 10019. Please do not contact the hotel directly with questions. Your accommodations have been taken care of.
Warm-Up Weekend Itinerary:
Friday, April 12
- Hotel Check-in at front desk. Luggage storage is available (and covered by WorldStrides) if an early check-in is not available.
- 4-5pm: Pick up your welcome bag and meet your Warm-up Weekend staff. Look for the WorldStrides table in the lobby near the check-in desk.
- 5:30-6:30pm: Welcome reception Happy Hour in Holland Room at Hilton hotel (4th floor, take a left out of elevators)
- 6:40pm: Meet in Hotel Lobby to walk as a group to dinner. Meet on 6th Avenue side by main entrance.
- 7pm: Dinner at Carmine’s Italian Restaurant.
- Free time in Times Square or on your own.
Saturday, April 13
- Anytime from 7-8:30am: Enjoy breakfast at your leisure at Herb N’ Kitchen restaurant on lobby level of Hilton hotel (breakfast voucher to be provided in your welcome bag).
- 9am: Meet in Hotel Lobby for Uber transport to Riverside Church (Heritage Festival venue). Meet on 6th Avenue side by main entrance.
- Visit to Riverside Church (Heritage Festival venue).
- 12pm: Lunch at Hard Rock Café
- Free time on your own.
- Optional 2-5pm: Sit in on the Festival at Carnegie Hall choral rehearsals with renowned conductor Jessica Napoles. These are hosted in the hotel, and we will need to know in advance if you plan to join.
- 6pm: Dinner at Havana Central
- 8pm: Hadestown on Broadway
Sunday, April 14
- Anytime from 7-8:30am: Enjoy breakfast at your leisure at Herb N’ Kitchen restaurant on lobby level of Hilton hotel (breakfast voucher to be provided in your welcome bag).
- Check-out and store luggage at hotel
- 10:15am: Meet in Hotel Lobby to walk as a group to Rockefeller Center – Meet on 6th Avenue side by main entrance.
- 10:30am: Top of the Rock tour
- 12pm: Lunch at Redeye Grill
- 2pm: Festival at Carnegie Hall Instrumental Spring Music Festival concert performance starts (doors open at 1:15pm)
Important notes:
- New York is a highly walkable city. If you have mobility issues or are concerned about traveling on foot, please let us know ahead of time. We will often walk between activities up to 15 minutes. Please remember to wear comfortable shoes.
- *Arrival day: We have requested as many early check-ins as the hotel will allow. Should the hotel not have an early check-in available, we have covered the cost to store your luggage with the hotel.
- Transfers to/from airport: You’ll be provided an Uber voucher as required to travel to and from the airport. This will come to you via the mobile number provided during registration.
- Departure day: If you need to leave early for a flight from the Carnegie Hall concert, please let us know in advance so we can seat you appropriately. You may store your luggage at the hotel on departure day as well.
