On Saturday, we invite you to two of the most historic presidential homes in the United States. We’ll depart early for James Monroe’s Highland, the official residence of fifth President James Monroe and his wife, Elizabeth Kortright Monroe, from 1799 to 1823. Highland features many of Monroe’s original possessions and other period artifacts.

We will also enjoy a tour of Thomas Jefferson’s mountaintop estate, Monticello, which overlooks Charlottesville. It is one of the best examples of Jeffersonian architecture in the nation as it was designed and redesigned and built and rebuilt for more than forty years by Thomas Jefferson himself.
